Tesla Battery Warranty: What's Covered and What's Left Used

Tesla's current warranty covers the battery for 8 years, with a mileage cap of 100,000, 120,000 or 150,000 miles depending on the model, and a promise that capacity will not fall below 70 percent. The clock starts on the first delivery date, not the model year, so a used car carries whatever is left. Since December 2025, Model 3 and Model Y owners in the US and Canada can buy up to two more years or 30,000 miles for 2,000 dollars, but only before the original warranty ends, and that extension does not cover capacity loss at all.
