Can You Get a Free Tesla FSD Month?
Since October 29, 2026, a Tesla owner can get a one-month Full Self-Driving (Supervised) trial through another owner's referral link. Tesla's rules leave a lot of people out. Answer six quick questions to see where you stand before you use a link.
Six taps or fewer. Your answers stay in your browser.
Your result
First, check the car's screen: Controls > Software shows the AI computer type. If it shows computer 2.0 or 2.5, the car needs Tesla's AI computer upgrade before it can run FSD (Supervised), so hold off on the link until then.
How to claim it
- Update the Tesla app on your phone to version 4.62.0 or later.
- Sign in as the car's primary account holder.
- Open the link below on that phone. Tesla accepts it only in the Tesla app.
- If it opens in a browser instead, touch and hold the link and tap "Open in Tesla". No "Open in Tesla"? Update the app. If that fails, delete and reinstall it, sign in again and retry.
- If you have more than one eligible car, Tesla may ask which one gets the trial.
This link supports 12 trials per calendar year, first come, first served. If it doesn't give you a trial, any owner who subscribes to FSD or bought it outright has their own link to share.
Full disclosure: if you subscribe during the trial, we earn a referral reward too.
Tesla's terms also require you to be 18 or older, with your Tesla account address in a market where Tesla runs the program.

How this check works
Each question maps to a rule in Tesla's FSD (Supervised) referral terms or its support page for the program. The two pages differ in two places. The terms only rule out an outright FSD purchase on the car getting the trial, while the support page says you must not have bought FSD outright at all. And for a delivery trial, the support page starts the 12-month wait when that trial ends.
Where the pages differ, this check follows the stricter one or tells you Tesla will probably say no. Each referral link supports 12 redeemed trials per calendar year, and a redeemed trial counts even if the person never subscribes. That's why the check comes before the link.
