Car Seats in a Tesla: What Fits in Each Model, by Row

Every Tesla has lower car seat anchors in its two outer rear seats, and in the Model 3, Model Y and Model S the middle rear seat takes a belt-installed seat only. Three narrow seats fit a Model Y's rear bench on paper with about half an inch to spare, and the one hands-on Model Y report, from Australia, says three fit. This page sets out, model by model, which seats have anchors and tethers, what the owner's manuals forbid, the rear-seat widths against three narrow seats, and what the six-seat Model Y L and the three-row Model X offer a family with a third child.

Tesla Model Y L: Price, Range and How Big the Third Row Is

The Tesla Model Y L is the six-seat, long-wheelbase Model Y. In mid-October 2026 Tesla sold it in one version, the $61,990 Premium Launch Series, rated at 332 miles on its configurator. Its third row has 31 inches of legroom, 5.2 more than the seven-seat Model Y Premium, and Tesla's manual gives LATCH anchors to four of its six seats. This page covers the price, the range, the third row in numbers, car seats and the battery warranty.
